LOFT Dressing Room Try Ons: Which are Keepers?

Don’t you love it when your sister or girlfriend comes over and you try on clothes to see what looks good?  Well, that’s what we’re doing today on the blog.

Recently, I was at LOFT and tried on some new Fall things. I’ve got some thoughts on what I liked most, but you be the judge! Let’s go!

LOFT Dressing Room Try On

LOFT Dressing Room Try Ons: Which are Keepers?

Paris Graphic Sweater

O.K. ladies, No question here! This first outfit was a definite Oui for me!

I love this adorable Paris graphic sweater with the letters “Paris” stacked up like the Eiffel Tower.  It’s clever,  playful, and just plain fun.

It’s easy to imagine it with jeans, but I thought pairing it with something more elegant—chic slim-fit pants might be interesting.

These are LOFT’s  Riviera pants. They’re midrise, stretchy, and sit just above the ankle. I thought they were super comfy and fit true to size. I would recommend these as a good wardrobe staple.

This chic Paris-themed outfit, worn with my slingback kitten heels, gives me Audrey Hepburn vibes. What do you think?

Super Wide Leg Jeans

Mama Mia! When I first put on these super wide-leg jeans, I felt like I was in the band ABBA! These are LOFT’s most extreme wide-leg pants. They have such flowy flares that when you walk around, you feel like you are wearing a maxi skirt, not pants.

The fit is great—slim across the hips and thighs, then flaring from above the knee, wider, wider—oh, the drama!

The silky, comfy blouse is very pretty. Does something about the colors and pattern remind you of a peacock? Look closely.

Layered Looking Sweater

Is it a shirt and a sweater, or all in one? You have to get very close to tell. This mixed-media top is a single garment and a handy one at that. This layered-looking sweater makes getting dressed in the mornings easy because you slip the whole thing on at once.

Layering also helps upscale a casual sweater. The little ruffle in the middle acts like a peplum, hiding a not-so-tight tummy.

I thought this would look too sweet, stiff, or junior on me, but it just goes to show that you have to try things on. I love this surprise find!

Knit Shirtdress

Has Anyone Seen My Pants? (Lol!) Have you ever had a dream you are walking around in your underwear because you forgot to put your pants on? That’s how it feels wearing this knit shirtdress.

It’s super cute, and I love the color, but it’s way too short,  even though my legs still seem to be holding up! No mini for this midlife mama!

Not so WILD Animal Print Top

The leopard sweater is cute, and the Riviera pants are nice, but worn together, this outfit does not make me roar with excitement!  The colors seem oddly off,  and the whole thing looks a little stiff and frumpy. I always say, if you don’t love it, leave it.

  1. I absolutely LOVE the first outfit, it is classy and very chic. I can see me wearing it. Thank you for these amazing “fits”

  2. Hi Deborah, I love the Paris outfit on you. Yes very Audrey Hepburn! After reading your blog, I popped in Loft today to check out that Paris sweater. On me, it is beyond blah!!! It did me no favors. Oh well, can’t win them all. Of the rest of your haul, maybe pair the leopard sweater with the super wide leg jeans.

    1. Hi Carolyn,
Too bad about the sweater, but I notice there are a lot of other sweaters that say Paris. It’s kind of a thing right now. Good idea about the leopard sweater. I think it would look much better with jeans. More contrast!

      1. I love the purple sweater dress! I’m 5’3”, and it comes an inch or two above my knee. How short is too short for a 62-year-old? I’m wondering if it’s too short. Is there a length considered most appropriate for ladies 60+?

        1. Hi Pam! I’m sure this dress would be just fine on you. I’m 64, 5’7″ with long legs and found it a little too short for me. I normally wear my dresses one or two inches above my knee, but this was like 4-5 inches above the knee on me! It’s a stunning dress. Causal, classy and the color!!! If you end up getting it please send me a photo to info@fabulousafter40.com I’d love to see it on you!
