Colorful Striped Tee – Lou & Grey: Style Review

Stripes are a summer classic that has been around for as long as we can remember. I’m sure you have a few striped tops hanging in your closet. So why would you buy another this summer?

I asked myself that same question until I saw this cheerful striped tee.

This darling top is from Lou and Grey, a new brand I have just discovered. The tee’s vibrant colors and energetic feel jumped out at me and screamed Summer Fun!

There are so many things about this stripe tee that make it modern and different. First of all, the exciting combination of colors!

You’ve got a white, pale pink mango and this stunning orangey-red color. These are all the colors that Pantone predicted would be popular this season. This lovely mix reminds me of a gorgeous sunrise! These colors give me energy.

Did you notice the back of the tee? There’s a chic side slit, and a high-low hem, meaning the tee is shorter in the front and longer in the back. It’s a beautiful detail.

Another thing that is a bit different about this tee is that it has drop shoulders and a roomy silhouette, giving the top a relaxed, flowy, effortless look.

I like wearing white jeans with this top because they make the top pop. My jeans have straight legs. Wearing straight-leg or skinny jeans is essential to look good in this top because when you wear a more boxy top, your pants need to taper in to balance your body. If you wear a wide top with a wide bottom, it looks like your body is a block. You will look like a big rectangle with no waist or shape.

I also like cropped jeans with this top because they match that beachy summer vibe. I’ve gone for frayed cropped jeans this time, but the fray is minimal. That’s just me. I like things on the elegant side. The slides are from Michael Kors. I always fall for that metallic logo detail. It’s so rich.

My bag is also by Michael Kors. I’ve had it for a few years, and it matched this tee perfectly! It shows that when you buy a classic, quality bag, you can enjoy it for a long time and always look modern and fresh.
