Floaty Chiffon Floral Dresses: 2 Popular Types

A dress will always make you look pretty and feminine, but nothing can top the beauty and grace of a floaty, chiffon floral dress.

This is the perfect thing to wear when you want to pull out all the stops for a romantic date or special celebration. Here are two of my favorite chiffon, floral dresses online right now.

I get a lot of emails from readers asking me what to wear to a baby shower, bridal shower, christening, afternoon tea, or special birthday party. This Tommy Hilfiger  floral chiffon midi dress is something I would suggest.

Just think about the mood of these types of events. They’re ladylike, refined, pretty, and a time to celebrate being feminine. And that’s exactly what this dress does.

The soft yellow and gray mix, the delicate floral print, and the chiffon swishes and flows all reinforce a woman’s femininity. In a time when jeans and tees rule, this yellow floral chiffon dress is pure, girly dress-up!

This fun, flirty dress is especially lovely because of the stunning, pleated halter neckline that highlights the shoulders and flatters the bust. And the way it nips in at the waist, underscored by that thin, gray belt, is so delicate and figure-flattering!

This striking silhouette reminds me of Marilyn Monroe’s dress in that famous photo of her standing over the subway grate with her skirt blowing up!

Here’s the dress without all the twirling. The maxi length is trendy now and balances out the bare shoulders. This floral chiffon midi dress is a beauty!

You’ll need a good strapless bra for this dress, but it’s worth it. Spanx high-waist shorts also help to smooth out any lumps and bumps.

As for shoes, I chose these block-hee clear sandals to keep the look light and airy. Metallics always work, and the silver complements the gray and white florals. The square toe is trendy and makes the dress look very modern.

Some women prefer to show more legs (especially if you are short), so I have a short floral chiffon dress.

Pretty in pink! This cute pink floral chiffon dress (here too) has a sweet quality to it. That is partly because of the colors, the ruffles, and the pinafore shape.

It’s cute, whereas the first dress was more elegant- both chiffon but with a different feel.

I paired my Tommy Hilfiger dress with this cool Margaux Satchel by Kate Spade. The necklace and cuff are Kendra Scott.

The gold chain sandals are oldies but goodies, and the purple-shaded glasses are Quay.

It is important to note that you don’t want heavy shoes with a light chiffon dress. Please make sure to keep your boots light-looking and refined.

All ruffled up and ready to go! If you are looking for a feminine dress and like either of these two, here are the links for the yellow and pink dresses.

  1. Thank you for your post. You helped this groom’s mother have just the right dress for the bridal shower. I found the yellow Tommy Hilfiger new with tags on eBay for an excellent price!

    1. Hikari, That’s excellent news. I would love you to send in a photo! Isn’t eBay great? They have a lot of brand-new stuff, which surprised me.
