How to Style Eyelet Tops with Jeans (Casual & Feminine Outfit Ideas)
Jeans are casual, and let’s face it, sometimes they can feel a little plain. But add an eyelet top, and suddenly they feel dressier and much more feminine.
What I love about Eyelet is that it has a charm all its own. The pretty cutwork is built right into the fabric, so even a simple outfit feels a little more special. Pair Eyelet with denim to create a pretty yet relaxed summer look that works for everything from lunch with friends to vacation sightseeing, casual dinners, and weekend outings.

How to Style Eyelet Tops with Jeans
1. Experiment with Jean Styles
One of the reasons eyelet tops are so versatile is that they work with almost every style of jeans. Straight-leg jeans are a natural match, but Eyelett also looks great with cropped, flared, and wide-leg jeans, as well as relaxed boyfriend styles.
A white eyelet top paired with faded denim always feels fresh in spring and summer, but don’t be afraid to experiment with different washes and colors to make the look your own.
2. Balance Sweet with Structure
Eyelet is naturally feminine, which is why I like pairing it with jeans that have a little structure. Straight-leg, flare, and wide-leg jeans help balance the softness of Eyelett and keep the outfit from feeling overly sweet.
If your eyelet top has ruffles, puff sleeves, or other romantic details, this balance becomes even more important.
3. Keep Accessories Simple
Eyelet already has a lot going on, so there’s no need to pile on lots of accessories. A pair of gold hoops, a simple pendant necklace, or a great watch is often all you need.
Let the fabric’s beautiful cutwork be the star.
4. Layer Lightly
A denim jacket, linen blazer, or lightweight cardigan can add another layer of interest without taking away from the Eyelet.
The goal is to keep the look easy and relaxed rather than overly styled.
5. Try Unexpected Colors
WhiteEyelett is timeless, but don’t overlook colorful versions. Coral, peach, navy, yellow, and bright pink eyelet tops can feel surprisingly modern when paired with denim.
A bold color is one of the easiest ways to give this classic fabric a fresh update.
6. Try a Monochromatic Look
An all-white outfit with white jeans and an eyelet top can look especially chic in spring and summer.
Add a raffia bag, metallic sandals, or a colorful accessory, and you have an outfit that looks effortless but still feels special.

How to Style a White Eyelet Shirt
A crisp, white eyelet shirt is a fantastic piece to have in your closet. It’s versatile because you can style it in several ways.
You can wear a white eyelet top tucked into jeans with a metallic gold or silver belt. You can also half-tuck your shirt—for example, a white eyelet shirt with a modern circular pattern worn with shorts. Or wear an eyelet shirt untucked and open like a jacket over a white T-shirt, tank top, or camisole.

Colored Eyelet + White Demim
I love styling colored eyelet with white jeans in spring and summer. White makes every color pop, espeically all the bright crayon colors we’ve been seeing lately. This combo of white jeans and a red eyelet top is giving me 4th of July or nautical vibes.
Bright yellow eyelet tops are also very pretty in summer.

Layer Eyelet for a Classy Look
Layer an edit shirt or shirt jacket over all white or all black for chic, modern look that makes the eyelet stand out against a long, solid column of neutral color.
What to Wear Under an Eyelet Top?
If you’re not sure what to wear under an eyelet top, you have a few choices. Sometimes, all you need is a beige or nude bra that disappears into your skin, and the top suddenly isn’t see-through.
This usually works if the eyelet pinholes are fairly small. If the pinholes are medium to large, try a nude shapewear camisole, which I typically wear. You could also wear a nude tank top or one in the same color as the top. For example, check out a purple tank top with a purple eyelet shirt.

Eyelets aren’t just beautiful in tops. Have a look at my favorite

In a recent email you showed us your new brows, they look really good! Can you tell me if they were done use which technique, powdered or? Thanks, I would like to get mine done to make my morning eyebrow routine simpler, and hopefully find a great eyebrow technician!
Hi Louise, I had powder brows done, which are semi-permanent, which means they fade over time. They are softer ombre brows as compared to microbladed brows -so more natural. I went for the first session, and you come out of that with thicker, darker brows. They fade and shrink to a nice size, and you come back a month later for a light touch-up just to fill in the patchiness. In my case, I opted not to do the touch-up because they looked good and weren’t so patchy. But I’m sure in 6 months, they will have faded, and I will want to touch them up. That’s fine. I’d rather go slow and get used to them. I had skinny brows for so long it’s taken me a bit to adjust, but everyone seems to love them, and I do find my eyes look bigger. I hardly have to wear any eye makeup! I’m happy.
I love eyelet. I found a tiny one in XS at Kohl, also in green, lined from Draper James if any petites need one. The eyelet ones from Loft are also pretty. I got the lilac and green ones in the mail from last week’s sale. The draper James one is green and white, almost with a print, and Loft green is solid and called clover. I love your red one and am off to check it out. Bonnie
Hi Bonnie,The red is my favorite too. I don’t think I have ever seen a red eyelet top before. That is one beautiful top. Your others sound great too! Thanks for dropping by! Cheers, Deb
