Red Swingback Jacket is Elegant with Jeans
The red swing-back jacket I wore in a recent post with a lacy black sweater dress was a big hit, but afterward, some of you wrote to ask if it could be worn casually too.
Please look at how I’ve styled this glam piece with a pair of my favorite jeans!
This elegant little jacket with the cute crop is a fresh and feminine change from a plain old blazer.
I wear it with jeans and a white bubble knit sweater I have nicknamed ” the cloud” because it’s so light and fluffy looking. I also wore it in the post I did about my green suede moto jacket. If you didn’t want to wear a sweater, you could also wear a cute V-neck or scoop neck t-shirt, which would also dress the jacket down, or if you wanted to add some polish to your jeans, you could slip on a pretty blouse under the jacket.
These Paige Transcend Hoxton High jeans are my new favorite. I prefer dark jeans over faded or ripped ones because they look richer. However, sometimes they can look too perfect. That’s why I like these. They have very subtle vertical lines running down them that give them an ever so slightly worn look which is just enough for me.
These jeans are high-waisted, so there is no muffin top, and they are ultra-soft and comfy! I always buy Paige; their flawless fit and jeans don’t stretch out.
As for my clutch, I wanted to pick up on the ladylike vibe of the jacket, so I went for a Black python clutch. It ups the chic factor.
I just wanted to show you the back of the coat as well. Look at the romantic ruffle sleeves and the darling pleat down the back. Just imagine the swing as you turn!
Low, black suede booties are simple and sleek to keep the focus up top. If you like wearing high heels with your jeans, then a gorgeous pair of pointy-toe pumps would add a lot of allure.
It’s an interesting combo. Years ago, we all remember it used to be that a dressy jacket like this only went with a dressy dress, skirt, or formal pair of pants. But to look modern now, you need to mix things up. An elegant jacket like this + casual, laid-back jeans is where it’s at.
Finally, I know some of you like red but stay clear of wearing it because it feels too bright for you… and that’s fine; not everyone has the same style of personality. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get this look. If you want a more toned-down version, this jacket comes in a gorgeous heather gray shade, so do check that out.
Versatility is the key to the pieces I like to buy. I hate spending money on something I can only wear one way, but this jacket with a dress or jeans is a great way to stretch your fashion dollar; if you like what you see, you can shop my outfit by clicking the shop images above.
I love the pop of color!
