What to Wear with Burgundy Corduroy Pants?
Denim is great year-round, but in the fall I like to uplevel my look by wearing plush corduroy pants. I recently wore my favorite burgundy corduroy jeans with a sparkly holiday sweater. Today, I’m sharing another way to wear burgundy cord jeans that is more casual, cozy, and every day. Take a look!
Fall is all about color and texture, the two reasons I love wearing these rich, burgundy-colored corduroy jeans. These are skinny corduroy jeans that look like cargo pants. Follow along to see the classic utility pant details.
The corduroy used for these jeans is quite fine, which which means a more refined kind of pant. The color is so juicy and berry-like. They call this color, wine.
These pants are midrise and taper like skinny jeans. They are not at all thick or stiff, like some cords, which makes them very comfy. I fell in love lightweight feel, and the built in stretch.
To play up the gorgeous texture of the cords, I added a nubby sweater in the prettiest matching colors. Don’t you love how the rich mix of textures makes this outfit so cozy and inviting?
These pants have a utilitarian or “cargo” style. Look closely to see the flap pocket on my right leg.
And, of course, the burgundy-fig color (yes, that’s what they call it) is stunning! When I find pants in a unique shade like this, I snap them up!
My oversized cowl-neck sweater is relaxed and comfy without being sloppy. It’s cotton, so it’s lightweight, and I can wear it right into spring.
*Note: 10/24 It’s been a few years since I wrote this post. In 2024/25, Skinny cords like this are now on the back burner, but these wine straight-leg jeans are right on trend. Check them out!
You can create the same look by wearing any currently trending jeans. Other options are high-waisted wide-leg cords, flare cords, bootleg, or cropped cords. Pop on a nubby sweater, and you are all up to date!
Do you like cords, and what do you think of this red shade I’m calling burgundy or wine?
